Land Surveyor

As the Land Surveyor, you will work with a team of surveyors in undertaking cadastral surveys, feature and level surveys and construction setouts. An opportunity also exists to assist with project management of subdivisions.

Reporting to: Director

Purpose/role:

To deliver quality survey services to our clients in an efficient and effective manners using modern technology and systems. You will work with a team of surveyors in a collaborative manner to share resources and knowledge. You will work on a number of projects at any one time and will communicate with clients on outputs, timing and budget. You will report regularly to management and share updates on your projects.

You will be expected to help maintain a productive and happy work environment through collaboration and communication. As such, confidence, a good sense of humour and strong communication skills are a must.

The role will require a close working relationship with a small and highly experienced team working on a range of multi-disciplinary projects. The incumbent will be required to prepare survey reports, cadastral plans, plans of subdivision, feature and level surveys and construction setouts. The incumbent must be self- motivated and manage projects independently.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma or Tertiary Qualifications in Surveying or nearing completion of education
  • Desire to upskill, innovate and lead projects
  • Excellent skills in using modern survey technology
  • CAD skills and wiliness to learn new systems
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a diverse and multi-disciplinary environment

General Responsibilities:

  • Cadastral surveying
  • Feature and level surveys
  • Construction setout
  • Drafting of plans
  • Preparation of survey reports
  • Project management from concept through to completion
  • Assist with the preparation of bids and proposals
  • Build strong relationships with clients and identify and develop business opportunities
  • Ensure technical content and quality of outputs are proposed in line with the project brief and company standards
  • Other duties as directed

Performance review:

An annual evaluation of performance will be conducted each year based on achievement of personal goals and key performance indicators as determined at the outset of employment and at each subsequent review with the Director.

Oxley+Co is a well-established land development consulting firm based in Wangaratta that services North East Victoria and southern New South Wales. We provide town planning, surveying, engineering, and project management services to both private and public clients.
